Jordan Scott is a Chicago-based artist, photographer, and writer whose work explores memory, repetition, transformation, and overlooked histories embedded in ordinary objects and places. His photographic practice is rooted primarily in black-and-white imagery, though he uses color when it is integral to a specific series. He has a particular interest in aging architecture, cemeteries, transportation structures, vintage signage, and other cultural and architectural oddities. He is drawn to places that are weathered, unfashionable, or nearing disappearance, finding beauty and emotional resonance in what others may consider obsolete, neglected, or run-down.
